Class Description

Developed by Industry Professionals, designed for beginners. Whether your goal is to audition for a community theatre production, hone your skills to secure that first lead role or just build some confidence singing and speaking in front of people, we would love to see you at Adult Musical Theatre Class. This class is designed for absolute beginners to intermediate performers. Maybe you were in a choir in primary school and haven't sung since? Maybe you love everything about theatre but couldn't never imagine it was something you could do? Maybe you've done a few community theatre productions and want a place to craft your skills and secure a dream role? In this class you will learn to sing with healthy technique and confidence, learn about different acting techniques, script analysis, improv, stagecraft and work on basic choreography and dance skills. You will work one-on-one and in a group as we grow, explore, develop and refine your skills. You'll learn about audition technique and working with nerves and how to navigate the Brisbane and Australian Musical Theatre scene. This course is a compilation of the BeXD Create team's individual experiences in musical theatre, as well as everything we've learn from touring with a Broadway singer and teacher, and working with teachers at tertiary musical theatre colleges, classical and pop singers, dance specialists and professional film and stage theatre actors. All levels are welcome from first time performers (yes, literally "I've never sung before in my life" singers) to experienced performers. These classes are a welcoming, supportive and safe space to step out of your comfort zone and make mistakes. Class Times: Wednesday evenings 6:30 - 8:30pm Term 4 Dates: 5th February - 26th March 2025 Cost: $50 per week, $400 for 8 week term Location: St Andrew's Anglican Church, Indooroopilly All Experience Levels Welcome!
